What a Summer!

I know what you are thinking, “It’s the middle of December, not Summer”.  As you may have noticed I disappear almost the moment the tulips started to bloom last spring, and now I am catching back up after the biggest snow storm Minnesota has seen in 2 years. Seems only fitting I think.

Let’s get back to the real reason I wanted to write this post, to tell you about my summer.  The summer of 2012 was the year 6 people who mean the most to me decided to marry their best friends. In addition to them getting married they asked me to be apart of their special days! Here are some highlights from my summer:

Angie & Jaren- June 2012

Angie and I have been friends since we were teenagers. We used to spend hours watching High School Baseball games together as the dedicated girlfriends to our high school sweethearts, we made dozens of batches of puppy chow because we each needed our own batch to watch a movie, and I have always called her ‘The Model’.  June she said ‘I do’ the love of her life, Jaren.  And she sure did live up to the title of Model on her special day, doesn’t she look amazing?!

Brooke & Brock- June 2012

I know this photo is blurry, and I promise to share more in a later post, but I LOVE this shot of Brooke. She was very excited and happy in this moment and every time I see the photo I look back on that day and smile.  Brooke and Brock, yup- B&B, were married in June.  I felt very attached to the wedding having helped her create all of her bouquets and boutineers, well and since she such a fantastic friend! Brooke and I met in college and have been having adventures ever since.  We both will always think fondly of our road trip to Chicago.

Amy & Michael- August 2012

August was a wonderful month, my best friend married the love of her life, Michael.  I can’t imagine her having more of an amazing day. The sun stayed slightly covered the whole ceremony until the exact moment of the kiss, and out came the sun, brightly shinning down on them.  She looked like a fairytale princess that day, simply stunning!  Being MOH for the wedding added many more duties to my plate for the summer other than just standing there holding the bouquet while she kissed her groom. I will fill you in later on the wonderful British Tea Party themes bridal shower we throw that was a huge success!

Kyle & Katie- September 2012

Not the best photo of us in the world, but I think this was the only one we took together all day, just the two of us. My cousin Kyle married the wonderfully sweet Katie in September.  The Boy and I road tripped to Fargo, ND to spend the weekend celebrating.  This day was a few years in the making, but I was so excited for them the day it actually came. I think their little (well- actually not so little english bulldog) doggy  Barron was equally excited that his parents were finally tying the knot.  I can’t wait for these two to make some little ones for me to spoil… oh wait… did I say that out loud…. shhhh….

Tanya & Jeffery- October 2012

October brought the finally 2 weddings of the summer and one of the days I have been waiting 22 years for. My baby sister, Tanya, married her best friend, Jeff! We all look forward to the day that our little sister finds the love of her life and we get to help her plan the day she will remember forever. I am pretty sure as kids we rehearsed this day 1,000 different ways with our little friends in oversized hand me down bridesmaid dresses our mom’s gave us to play with.  She was glowing all day long!  More to come on the events leading up to this day and the baby shower that followed!! Yup, you can call me auntie Rachel now!

Maureen & Adam – October 2012

The wedding that rounded out the ‘summer’ was Maureen and Adam’s beautiful fall wedding.  I would say I am partially responsible for this day even happening. See a few years ago, I had a single girl friend from college, and had met a guy through a friend who also happened to be single. One night I was determined to have them meet, and well, let’s just say the rest is history.  These two make such a cute couple. I don’t think I have ever seen her smile so much in her life as she does when she is with him. I am pretty sure she is going to have smile wrinkles at a young age because of her happiness! Don’t tell her that, I don’t want to stifle her smiles 🙂

Now can you see why I seemed to pull a disappearing act this summer? I had a lot going on, and this was only the half. More updates to come, and more flash backs of the last few months, because WOW they were great!
