Green Machines

Ok-you have heard enough about my detox for a few days. I will update you on the final few days soon,  but I thought it would be fun to share some of the things I ate or rather drank during the detox.

My favorites were Green Machines!

The first Green Machine was the Naked Brand Juice Smoothie! So delicious. I drank several bottles of this juice over the 10 day detox. It did look odd when I walked around with my reusable cup filled with green liquid, but I didn’t care, it was scrumptious.  I turned to the Naked Brand Juice Smoothie Green Machine during the detox because it is packed with so much and has no preservatives or added ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 Apples
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1/3 Kiwi
  • 1/3 Mango
  • a hint of Pineapple
  • 1,300 mg Spirulina
  • 400 mg Chorella
  • 100 mg Broccoli
  • 100 mg Spinach
  • 50 mg Blue Green Algae
  • 50 mg Garlic
  • 75 mg Barley Grass
  • 75 mg Wheatgrass
  • 50 mg Ginger
  • 50 mg Parsley

Now the second Green Machine was the one I created in my kitchen. I had always heard you could put spinach in your smoothies and never taste it, so I took this detox as an opportunity to test it out.

Start with your liquid on the bottom; orange juice and soy milk (you can replace the soy milk with Greek yogurt for extra protein). This will help everything mix better.

Then add in a banana, whole strawberries (stems and all), spinach, and kiwi.

Let it take a trip around the blender for a minute or two until well blended.

There you have it a Green Machine! Perfect morning energizer 🙂

Green Machine Smoothie

yields 2 -12 oz servings

  • 4 oz Soy Milk or Greek Yogurt
  • 4 oz Orange Juice
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 Kiwi, pealed and chopped
  • 4-6 whole Strawberries, with stems
  • a handful of Spinach
  1. Add Soy Milk and Orange Juice to bottom of blender.
  2. Add in fruit and Spinach.
  3. Blend on medium until all incorporated.

** Not a spokes person for Naked Juice, nor are they paying me to review it. I only wish. I just think it is delicious!**
