You guys, this was the best weekend! So jam packed, that when I woke up this morning, I wasn’t sure I did it all.
Friday night was just a normal night at home, The Hubby and I had dinner together, he watched the NFL draft and I blogged. Super uneventful Friday night, but it meant we were in bed early, and could wake up early Saturday. Dewey also enjoyed us being home for a night, which meant he got lots of snuggle time. He always takes full advantage of those. Half the time he doesn’t let me type because he has to have his head laying on my hand.
I woke up at 8 am on Saturday, which almost never happens. I am not a morning person, but I am really working on it. Before 9am, I had got my workout in, read all my emails, and made myself a delicious cup of coffee and a Shakeology shake. I have really cut back by coffee intake since drinking Shakeology, but I do like having it on the weekends. And I just received this fabulous much that I ordered from Trendy Sparrow, and I am completely obsessed!! I really want this mug as well, and maybe this t-shirt.
The Hubby was up by 9 am, and off for a bike ride and run with a friend. Who were these people living in my house? Up early on a Saturday to workout? Oh yes, people who did not go out on Friday night and indulge in too many cocktails. Maybe we are growing up?
After some blogging and breakfast, I spent the next few hours in my backyard cleaning up and laying some new mulch. Our backyard is all fenced in and has no grass, only mulch. We bought the house this way, not sure we would have chosen this look ourselves. But it sure does looks great during the summer. However, Dewey seems to like to run laps through the yard kicking up mulch, creating a nicely dug out race track. After a few hours in the backyard it was starting to look nice again, and no more Dewey race track.
When The Hubby got home, we decided to take a bike ride to get lunch. It was so beautiful outside, a perfect day to be outdoors. After lunch, I convinced The Hubby I deserved a scoop of ice cream for all the calories I burned hauling mulch, and working out that morning. The little ice cream shop even had coconut milk ice cream so The Hubby could have a scoop too!
I had run out of mulch in the morning, so we were off to Home Depot for a 3rd time in the last week. That store sure does love taking our money. We ran out of time to lay the rest of the mulch, because I had to decorate a Birthday Cake, and get ready to go to a birthday party.
Its was my friend Brooke’s birthday, so we headed out for dinner and some bowling at a local restaurant that also has a few lanes. These are my crazy cat friends. They like taking a serious photo as much as I do, so we always have a few that looks like this one 🙂 I sure LOVE these girls!!
Oh and I bought this fabulous shirt for The Hubby the other day at Len. Big hit with the group, and with the Facebook community! Bahahaha!
Sunday was not as early of a start as Saturday, but just as eventful! I was up, and went to breakfast with my girlfriends. I am always a sucker for a good Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, so you know I splurged. Doesn’t this dish look amazing! Needless to say, I was a member of the Clean Plate Club at breakfast. Bonus, this restaurant also serves monkey bread during brunch for free before your meal arrives. LOVE THAT. Brunch was so late, it really was more like lunch with breakfast food. We were able to sit out on the patio, and it was fabulous. This time of year in Minnesota makes all the memories of a cold winter fade away.
The BIGGEST highlight of my weekend was meeting Amanda from I Am Baker! AND I was even able to get a photo with her. AND chat with her! Just about peed my pants with excitement! Some of you might know who I am Baker is, and other might not, but I have been reading her blog for roughly 5 years now. She is like a mini celebrity to me. Not only does she make some of the most spectacular cakes, ones that I have mimicked, but her blog and Instagram account are super funny. She comes up with the #besthashtagsever.
Not only did she give a great presentation on Social Media for your business, but the group was small enough that I was able to get a few questions in during her talk. Then the icing on the cakes {<– see what I did there} was getting to go up on stage with her and a few other people {again we had a small group} to watch her decorate a cake. She even let everyone add a rosette to the cake. She might have called me a “pro” at doing rosettes… Yeeee. I really hope you are grasping how exciting this meeting was for me. For me, it was like meeting your favorite actress . I am not sure if anyone else at the presentation quit knew who she was, she really did shock them when she said she has 700,000 Facebook followers. I more so felt like a groupie asking for a photo, and wanting to ask her all the questions in the world. I really wish I would have asked her more. And I totally should have asked her what her favorite frosting was… opportunity missed! Maybe someday when I have 700,000 facebook follower too, I can call her up, and say “Do your remember that goofy girl you met in MN in 2015? That’s Me! Let’s be friends”.
Gosh, writing about that weekend again makes me wonder how we packed it all it! Great weekend 🙂
How was your weekend? Did you have any pee your pants exciting moments too?
