Day 12 of 25 Day of Christmas My Urban Oven Style!
This past weekend flew by! I can not believe there is only 12 days and one weekend left until Christmas.
Slight panic has set in.
I need to finish my Christmas shopping. Wrap more than 4 presents. And start my baking for the season.
Panic.
After making these brussels sprouts, I think I will be bringing them to my grandparents for Christmas. We spend Christmas lunch with my family at my grandparents farm every year. Our Christmas meal is normally a large spread of side dishes and appetizers. My grandma always makes her homemade meatballs. Grandpa roasts a ham from his farm. My mom brings chicken wings and rolls. My sister makes ham and cream cheese wrapped pickles. My mom’s older sister brings ramen noodle salad. My uncle brings a cheese chip dip. My other aunt brings chicken salad.
The list goes on and on. We have a big family
I like to introduce my family to new dishes. I always of course bring lots of cookies. I make a platter to go on each table. And I have been making spinach artichoke dip for the past 5 years or so. My family is slightly obsessed with the roasted garlic bread that I serve with it. I think this year I should change it up. My family might not love brussels sprouts, but I think I might be able to win them over with the caramelized bacon mixed in with them.
If not, that means more for me.
If you aren’t a brussels sprouts fan, this is the perfect recipe to reintroduce yourself to them. I am pretty sure this salty, sugary combination would win anyones taste buds over to the brussels sprouts dark side.
I might have just taken one of the healthiest veggies and turned it into basically candy.
Sorry, not sorry.
Oh and did I mention it is a 3 ingredient recipe. Yup, add that to the easy list.
Now go out and make yourself these roasted gems!

OMG this looks AMAZING! Brussel sprouts are my favorite – just devoured two plates last night at a local restaurant. This is going in the recipe file for sure!
We love them a ton too at our house. I hope you do pin it for later!
Mmmmm I love LOVE brussels! Need make these asap! I always use balsamic but this is something new!
I do balsamic alot too, but needed to switch things up a bit!T The recipe was originally going to only be the bacon on top, but then the brown sugar sitting next to the oven called out to me!
[…] I kind of got a little crazy with my bacon and brown sugar when making recipes this weekend. The best part is that you could use a whole 1 lb of bacon to make these shrimp wrapped sugar babies and the brussels sprouts from day 13. […]
This looks so good! Maybe the bacon will get husband to eat his greens!

I normally like to use the bacon instead of olive oil to cook my brussels sprouts {more flavor}, and the brown sugar just called my name when I was putting this recipe together. I hope you do try it and report back!
Would never have thought of combining bacon and brown sugar! Going to have to try this sometime. Thank you for sharing.
We always do Brussels sprouts on the stove, but I love the idea of just popping them in the oven! Yum!
Roasted is the only way I will eat them! Totally try putting them in the oven, so good!
Brussel sprouts have really burst on the scene this year. We love them and roast them ever chance we get. I want to try them in a salad as well!
They sure have!! I have an Asian Ramen Noodle Salad recipe you should check out too!
This brussels sprouts recipe looks too good! Brussel sprouts are one of the few green items my kids will eat so I will have to try this recipe… thanks for sharing!
Oh and I bet they will love the bacon and sugar too 🙂 Enjoy!
I wish I had read this earlier today. I’ve got brussel sprouts in the oven now, just not with the brown sugar and bacon. Can’t wait to try these.

I’m absolutely in love with brussels sprouts right now, especially when they are simply roasted like this. 🙂
These look amazing! I feel like my husband would love me so much if I made this!
Confession: I’ve never made brussel sprouts before! ::) I think I should! These sound and look really good.
You should, and you should roast them. They are not as scary like people have made them out to be. Only scary when you steam them 😉
