Mother’s Day might have been a week ago now, but how do you share your Mother’s Day celebration before Mother’s Day? You just can’t. So I am going to share it 1 week belated.
I have lots of amazing mothers in my life, friends, aunts, cousins, grandmas, my mom and most recently my own sister.
Every year we spend Mother’s Day together as a whole family celebrating the woman at the head of our family, my beautiful Grandmother Darlene. My Grandmother has always been there for me. She is the one who taught me to embroider when I was 7, taught me along with her mother how to roll the perfect sugar cookie, and she showed me how to a be a strong woman. Love her more than anything.
This year she asked that I make cake for dessert, and specifically requested that I make a cake with flowers on it. And when your grandmother makes a special request, you follow through on that to the best of your ability.
Isn’t she the cutest with her cake?
I Love You Grandma!
I ended up having to make 2 cakes because in addition to my grandmother requesting that I make a cake with flowers, my Mom requested that I make a cake that was rainbow inside. I made this same rainbow cake 2 years ago for Easter and everyone loved it, my mom especially. Which is what lead me to making 2 flower cakes, because one wouldn’t have been enough for my whole family.
When decorating the cakes I decided that since they were going to be identical on the inside, the should be different on the outside. One cake with colored flowers, and one with white roses. I love making the white rose cake, this is the second time I have made it, and each time it turns out so pretty.
This Mother’s Day, my Mom not only was a Mom but she spent her first year as a Grandmother too! My nephew Remington is the joy of our life!
Doesn’t she look so excited holding that little one.
I know she is going to teach him all the great things she taught us growing up. Be strong, care for others, push yourself, and always be there for your family and friends.
I Love You Mom!
With my Mom now a Grandma, that leaves my Sister as a new mom for this Mother’s Day. I am so happy for her and her family. If anyone is meant to be a Mom, it is my Sister. She is the most loving, caring and considerate person I know. This little boy has the best mommy any little boy could ever ask for.
I Love You Sister!
Although I don’t have a little one yet, I am a Mom to this little boy and I sure do love him!!
Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the Moms out there!! Even Moms of just doggies!
