What did you do with your Friday? I took mine off from work and went to yard sales. No those two were not mutually exclusive. I took the day off, but I did not take the day of to go to yard sales. But I did go to yard sales on my day off. Make sense?
I took yesterday off, just because I wanted a day off. Sometimes life just calls for days off. Days off to do something you don’t get to do on a normal day. My day was filled with blogging, meeting with the ADT guy, napping, yard sales and grilling out. Napping, now that was a good part of the day. I never get to do that on a normal day.
Although the nap was fun, I did enjoy the joy of the hunt a yard sale brings. Finding yard sales is like a fun treasure hunt without a map. You have to drive around in circles checking out phone poles or street corners for signs, then using the little information they provide to find said sale.
It was even more exciting when you found the second sign. Getting warmer.
Then BAM you find it! And the bigger hunt begins when you start searching the tables for good deals to take home. This particular yard sale was a bust. But the other 4 I stopped by were great. I came home with lots of great things, at great prices.
Check out my haul!
My yard sale finds started with presents for my nephew and brother. Toys for Remington and clothes for Carson. Poor Carson, he didn’t get anything fun. He isn’t going to be too happy with me.
Then there is this cute $2 lamp I found. I think I want to paint it a fun pop color. Maybe yellow, or purple, or maybe even a rose gold. First, I need to find a place in the house to put it, then I will pick a color. After that I will need a fun shade. Fun projects to come.
You also can’t go wrong with $1 baking pans. I had wanted to steal one of my mom’s angel food cake pans, but looks like now I have one of my own. Must make an angel food cake, soon. Yum.
I also found this cute red pot for 50 cents. Yup, a whole 2 quarters. There was a matching yellow pot, but I passed on it. I didn’t want to be a hoarder by buying everything I saw.
My best find was a set of 16 new, never used glasses for $8 that match the ones I already have at home. Let’s just say a few broke during our move, and I was in need of replacements.
The best find for last. A cute little photo of a hen. Only 50 cents for this cutie. It will be a perfect addition to my kitchen collection of roosters!
Now that was a fun day. What kind of things have you found lately at yard sales? Or decided to sale on a yard sale?
